RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Exemplifies excellent leadership and management to foster collaborative and data-informed planning, execution, and accountability.
- Advances CSUCI’s Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) purpose and serves the regional community, enhancing campus culture.
- Provides strategic and visionary leadership for the School of Education (SOE).
- Forges productive partnerships with community educational stakeholders, including local schools and school districts.
- Leads accreditation efforts at regional and state levels, ensuring oversight of outcomes assessment; Ensures the academic quality and integrity of all undergraduate, credential, and graduate programs within the School of Education.
- Leads efforts to improve student success, including retention, graduation rates, and employment outcomes for SOE graduates.
- Supervises SOE faculty , administrators, and program support staff.
- Supports professional development for faculty and staff.
- Works with the Associate Interim Dean to ensure the effective functioning of the Clinical Experiences and Partnerships Office.
- Collaborates with department chairs and others to facilitate faculty work.
- Coordinates the School of Education Advisory Committee.
- Work closely with the Associate Interim Dean to advance student support, ensures compliance with credentialing and accreditation requirements, and oversees clinical experiences and field placements.
- Manages partnership activities, including Teacher Residency partnerships.
- Exercises stewardship of fiscal resources and school assets.
- Advances justice, diversity, equity, and culturally-sustaining initiatives within the SOE, including curriculum development.
- Manages SOE enrollment and achieves enrollment targets for existing programs; Increases student enrollment by developing new degrees, particularly at the master's level.
- Pursues external funding through grants, contracts, and philanthropic contributions to support program expansion and capital projects, including the Early Childhood Center.
- Expands and supports the residency model for post- baccalaureate students pursuing credentials.
- Engages external partners, including school districts and community organizations, to meet regional workforce needs.
- Advocates for all programs and units within the SOE, both internally and externally.
- Maintains appropriate documentation, and coordinates assessment and reporting of operations;
- Serves on University and CSU-wide committees as elected or appointed; and
- Fulfill other duties as required by the position.
Takes an active role in helping to embed the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of University work, in every division, and participates at least once annually in professional and/or leadership development opportunities that will contribute to campus efforts to advance racial and social justice in and through education at CSUCI and beyond.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Education: a terminal degree in an Education-related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have an excellent record of teaching, scholarship, and service that merits tenure at the rank of full professor.
- Possess significant academic leadership experience and P-12 teaching and/or administrative experience; minimum of three-five years of demonstrated management and leadership experience in a collective-bargaining environment including budget administration, personnel management, and faculty retention, tenure and promotion review.
- Have demonstrated experience managing human resources and budgets.
- Be familiar with state, regional, and national accreditation procedures in higher education.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, other administrators, and community and school partners.
- Show a commitment to maintaining academic excellence.
- Demonstrate a commitment to DEI and have successful experience in building a multicultural teaching and learning community; Proven ability to work with professional integrity, and a commitment to building strong relationships that respect diversity of identity, background, and perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to effectively manage organizational change for improving efficiencies and services;
- Ability to cultivate an organizational climate based upon respect, service, open communication and teamwork;
- Demonstrated internal team-building and mentoring experience;
- Fluency in English and another language, e.g. Spanish, Tagalog;
- Demonstrates a commitment to recruiting, retaining, mentoring, and actively engaging with underrepresented and underserved populations both on campus and in the broader community.

Hiring Range: $14,500 - $17,000 per month. Salary based on experience and education.
