Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,400 - $5,950 per month
Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,158 - $12,730 per month
- This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Working independently under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Innovation and Digital Excellence for Academic Success (IDEAS) or designees, the LMS Tech Support Coordinator is a member of a work group supporting the Office of IDEAS for California State University, Fresno. This position provides support of the campus learning management system, databases, portals, and its integration with all third party tools, dashboard, and systems. The LMS Tech Support Coordinator provides Learning Management System technology support to faculty, staff, and students.
The employee shall allocate priority and time to the duties mentioned below based upon direction from the director of the office of IDEAS. The director will communicate these priorities and time allocation at least annually and when necessary.
The LMS Tech Support Coordinator is expected to work independently and possess the experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all of the work assignments.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of:
- General knowledge of information technology systems, applications, and networks.
- General knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting and related technology support practices.
- Service Management Tools for tracking Incidents, Requests, Problems, and Changes.
- Operating Systems: Apple Macintosh OS 10.x and later versions, Microsoft Windows 10 and later versions.
- Media conversion, storage, and deployment workflow.
- ATI (accessible technology initiative) standards for instructional materials.
- Data administration principles and techniques.
- Copyright, fair use, and TEACH Act laws and industry standards.
- Knowledge and ability to apply consultative skills to assess user needs and provide appropriate technology support.
- Skills/Abilities of:
- Demonstrate strong ability to use technology in order to streamline office processes and improve effectiveness.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as the Informational Technology Liaison for the organizational unit.
- Strong customer service skills and proactive, customer focused attitude.
- Effectively communicate (verbal and written) particularly using telephone and email.
- Strong fault isolation and problem solving.
- Perform multiple tasks and work according to procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to engage with different levels.
- Analytical skills to evaluate technology and configure and deploy systems updates.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
- A minimum of 1 year of related experience performing direct consultative support and training on information technology-based systems primarily in the areas of applications software, multimedia, database resources, or network support.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Canvas system administration and user support.
- 3 years’ experience in direct customer support related to LMS and/or a Canvas Certified Technical Admin (CCTA).
- Knowledge of emerging LMS systems and updates, and existing and prospective academic technology tools when available.
- Ability to perform system, database, and network maintenance tasks.
