About the University:

California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) opened in 2002 as the newest campus in the California State University system. About the Program: 

The mission of the Health Science Program at CSUCI is to prepare future health professionals who are competent, compassionate, creative and critical thinkers, and whose work addresses health disparities in the community. Our vision is a just and equitable world of physically, mentally, and socially healthy people living in healthy communities.

Our interdisciplinary degree program is designed to prepare students for professional careers in private and public health services. The program combines the knowledge and skills from multiple disciplines to provide rigorous training in health science. The curriculum includes a set of core courses and several elective courses that each student chooses in consultation with an advisor.

About the Position: 

Faculty needed to teach an online asynchronous health law course.

Minimum Degree Requirements:

Ph.D. with health law focus or J.D.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching first-generation students. Experience teaching in online format.

Responsibilities:
  • Teaching an eight-week asynchronous online course with active presence in the course, responding to student communication, and grading assignments in a timely fashion.

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range.
