The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $7,828 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The salary range for this classification is $5,053 to $16,221 per month.

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Assistant Director, Organizational Excellence to be responsible for overseeing the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) initiative at the Chancellor's Office, directing the systemwide customer satisfaction survey process, participating in the creation of the annual Organizational Effectiveness presentation for the Board of Trustees, facilitating Lean process improvement projects, and taking a lead role in Chancellor's Office and systemwide key initiatives (i.e. Multi-University Collaborative Initiative, CSUBuy, etc.).
This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Senior Director, Organizational Excellence, the Assistant Director, Organizational Excellence will:
-Direct day-to-day management, development, communication, implementation, and integration of change management strategies and project plans for the Business & Finance Balanced Scorecard.
-Manage and coordinate comprehensive awareness for the Business & Finance Balanced Scorecard (BSC) through targeted communication strategies, specialized training sessions, and executive briefings. Oversee preparation and facilitation of the regular BSC performance reviews with senior leadership.
-Provide insight for BSC performance reviews and support the review process itself as well as follow-up actions.
-Manage the execution and project/change management of the BSC initiative.
-Direct the integration of process and quality methods with BSC.
-Assist with development of strategy maps, objectives, KPIs, targets, and initiatives.
-Establish relationships with Executives, Directors, & department Managers, and provide assistance in understanding a balanced view of performance metrics.
-Take a lead role in Chancellor's Office and systemwide key process improvement initiatives (i.e. Multi-University Collaborative Initiative, CSUBuy, etc.).
-Administer the systemwide functional area customer satisfaction survey process.
-Work with campus VPs and staff on their implementation of functional area customer satisfaction survey activities.
-Develop, administer, and prepare reports for distribution to campuses.
-Participate in the creation of the annual Organizational Effectiveness presentation for the Board of Trustees.
-Serve on the California Higher Education Collaborative (CHEC) Conference committee and assist in the creation and running of the conference.
-Travel to campuses and other events and locations as needed.
Qualifications
This position requires:
-Bachelor's degree in business or related area of focus, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area is required.
-A minimum of three years’ experience managing communications & change management in a Higher Education environment.
-Demonstrated leadership in higher education setting.
-Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills in a professional setting.
-Experience managing/maintaining strong trust relationship with project teams and all stakeholders.
-Experience leading/managing small to medium work efforts and/or teams.
-Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
-Skilled at turning tech speak into easily understandable end-user instructions.
-Ability to provide guidance to the development of demonstration materials.
-Can maintain a high level of professionalism and comfort in an ever-changing environment.
-Experience acting as a liaison between project team and customers.
-Strong analytical skills.
-Can travel as necessary.

Conflict of Interest
