Job Summary:
The Theatre Arts major is both an exciting artistic adventure and a practical liberal arts degree. The broad range of subjects studied enable the theatre major to qualify for a wide variety of fields in California’s vast network that is the entertainment industry. Live theatre, design, film, television, corporate and media training, radio, public relations, advertising, business, law, and education are all avenues pursued by recent graduates. The diverse nature of theatre training develops skills for working as a theatre artist, as well as exploring human interaction and awareness of the human condition. The Theatre Arts Department season includes three or four main stage plays and several lab productions during the academic year. Lab productions may be student directed/designed. In addition, the department provides opportunities for students to perform in tours to local schools, libraries and community centers.
Student assistant for the Department of Theatre Arts Box Office. Duties include but are not limited to:
- main cashiering for event tickets
- customer service for students, faculty and patrons.
Assist staff in performing general office operations to include but not limited to:
- answering phones
- reception
- filing, scanning, copying
- on campus deliveries
- poster promotions
- word processing
- troubleshooting ticketing program issues
- other duties as assigned.
Some lifting is required and standing for long periods of time. Some evenings and weekends are required; advance notice will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.
- As a Bridge Student Assistant, the student need not be registered as a student, but must have been enrolled as a CSU student the previous term and is registered for the following term.
Required Qualifications:
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
- Cash Handling course must be completed before starting work; will be assigned after new hire process is complete
- Must pass background check

- Maintain a 3.0 semester and cumulative G.P.A. and be enrolled full-time in courses at CSUSB.

Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $17.00 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Position Information:
Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Background Check
