Job Summary

One will be under the general direction of the Associate Vice President Enrollment Services; this position has the primary responsibility for the maintenance and enhancement of the suite of Student Administration and Enrollment Services systems to meet institutional goals and objectives. In addition, this position is responsible for the management of the OnBase Integration Programmers as well as PeopleSoft Security maintenance and processing team. This position is the key liaison for Student Administration with ITS, HRIS, and FMIS. This position shares and implements a strategic vision for both technology and human resource development. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life.  This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the SA modules of the PeopleSoft system including admission, student records, financial aid, advising, and High Point Planner.
  • Responsible for the management and enhancement of Enrollment Services information systems including the electronic data exchanges; report programming; and security.
  • Responsible for application support and the over-all coordination of third-party systems in support of the student system including AdAstra, High Point Planner & Analytics, Class Scheduler, EAB Campus, OnBase, DocOrigin, and CSLlnk.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of interfaces between the Student System and other campus systems including the Financial System, CashNet, TIM, Library, CANVAS, Health Center, BMAC and Alumni, and the coordination of efforts in support of the Student System with ITS, HRIS, and FMlS.
  • Provides personnel management that will create an effective team with an emphasis on gaining consensus, collaboration, professionalism, and excellence. Leads a talented team of developers and technical staff; assigns and delegates projects and problems to be solved.  This position shares and implements a strategic vision for both technology and human resource development.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

A high level of proficiency in SQL, SQR, Crystal Reports, debugging in client, middle tier, and server environment is required.  A high level of proficiency of People Code and People Tools and  the  UNIX environment  is  required.  Knowledge of PeopleSoft products, especially Student Administration.  Demonstrated ability to work with technical and functional peers and to share knowledge is required. Ability to partner with peers in order to negotiate and broker the best technology solution is required. Collaborates effectively with team or customers to determine the requirements for new applications and systems. Possesses a deep understanding of Student Administration data and processes as well as the available options for technical support and enhancements. Stays current with programming trends and new applications, tools and systems. Has appropriate business acumen to develop and maintain systems and educate others to use existing system functionality.

Ability to effectively lead a technical team including the supervision, management, and motivation of staff. Knowledge and experience managing People Soft student systems. Ability to manage and lead complex projects, knowledge of project management methodology and tools, strategic planning, and workload management. Ability to clearly communicate complex tasks and multiple simultaneous projects of a diverse nature. Ability to develop, interpret and apply administrative policy, procedures, and rules. Ability and experience creating and implementing student-centered systems to meet institutional needs. Ability to delegate authority, provide direction and guidance, then follow up with evaluation.

Ability to carry out assignments without detailed instructions and obtain facts on which decisions or recommendations may be made. Maintains a safe work environment for all on the team. Treats all customers (students, faculty, and staff colleagues) with dignity and respect, empathy, fairness, and professionalism, consistent with the university mission, values and strategic vision. Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes and makes them available to supervisor. Ensures quality, usability, and integrity of system data by working within approved processes and testing procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management or similar degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience required.
  • Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $12,083-13,333 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU MPP Compensation Summary Range:  The MPP Comp Summary Range for this position is $10,555 - $15,833 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
