We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Audit Intern. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary

The anticipated part-time salary hiring range is up to $22 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The full-time equivalent (FTE) salary range for this classification is $3,328 to $6,408 per month.

Position Information

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Audit Intern to gain hands-on skills and experience surrounding all aspects of Audit and Advisory Services. This position will also receive mentoring and job shadowing opportunities with various audit and CO professionals to further increase their knowledge, skills and experience in Audit and Advisory Services and higher education. This position will assist staff in the assurance audits area of the division and as time permits and depending on the availability of projects, will also assist advisory services, IT audit, and data analytics. In addition, this position will also provide confidential administrative support to the leadership team of the Audit and Advisory Services division.

This position is 18 hours a week (part-time) with no benefits.

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor, the Audit Intern will:

-Provide administrative support to various areas of the division including assurance audits, advisory services, data analytics, information technology audits, and the division leadership team.

-Research and gather data and information in preparation for audits or other reviews/projects.

-Assist in reviewing, organizing, and documenting data and information gathered during all phases of an audit, review, or special project.

-Provide support in the analysis and reporting of outcomes and conclusions.

-Aid staff in the creation of research and support documentation, status reports, and presentations. Present outcomes and conclusions at team/staff meetings, when requested.

-Participate in planning and team meetings.

-Attend division staff meetings and events.

-Provide process improvement recommendations for review and consideration based on their experience and exposure to the audit processes and programs.

-Receive mentoring from various audit and Chancellor’s Office professionals through meet and greets, job shadowing, observing meetings and attending trainings and webinar.

-Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This position requires:

-Current enrollment with a CSU campus in a bachelor’s or masters degree program in accounting, business administration, or related field. 

-Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.

-Excellent written and communication skills.

-Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
