    • Temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant position in International Student Services.


    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after July 29, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist with email & phone correspondence.
      • Assist with reception and front desk functions for international students.
      • Provide timely and considerate customer service to students in all modalities (in-person, virtual, telephone).
      • Assist with planning and executing of social and cultural events (on campus, in the community, and out of town) for international students such as the International Buddy program, social events, intramural involvement, out-of-town trips that create opportunities for international and domestic students to build relationships and exchange culture.
      • Assist with International New Student Orientations and LCP Orientations including social activities.
      • Assist staff with outreach for domestic student participation in international programming including conducting presentations/public speaking.
      • Assist with editing publications.
      • Other duties or projects as assigned.
    • Qualifications













    • Required Qualifications:
      • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
      • Experience working in office setting.
      • Ability to plan and execute engaging activities.
      • Ability to follow directions and work independently.
      • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
      • Knowledge of standard software programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
      • Knowledge of standard office machines including copier and scanner.
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Flexible schedule (possible evening and weekend work).
      • Prior cross-cultural living and/or working experience.
      • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
      • Possess a willingness to understand and work through communication barriers with people from other cultures and possibly with limited English.

    • $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
