    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant position in Basic Needs, on the Stockton Campus.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after September 9, 2024 and ending on or before May 23, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Directly assist food pantry participants with intake process, item selection, and customer service Essential needs.
      • Provide for a clean, safe and efficient operation of the Warrior Food Pantry and pantry snack baskets/microwaves around campus.
      • Provide a welcoming culturally appropriate pantry atmosphere that supports nutritional wellness while maintaining confidentiality and respect of participants.
      • Process and track food & item donations.
      • Inventory Management - Sort, track, and shelve items per established guidelines. Participate in food safety training to ensure food safety compliance.
      • Directly assist students with Food Distribution paperwork, and update and file completed forms.
      • Assist with preparation and facilitation of food distributions, LIVE food demonstrations, and other events as needed.
      • Assist with training of volunteers.
      • Responsible for Warrior Food Pantry data entry and reporting.
      • Collects and maintains documents, information, and records for submission to supervisor.
      • Support the campus by providing feedback on the climate of healthy behavior, including the most pressing concerns they are seeing/experiencing in interactions
      • Assist with Basic Needs & Warrior Food Pantry programming and awareness through virtual or in-person tabling and outreach events.
      • Serve as Basic Needs Ambassador, participating in virtual or in-person Food Distribution events and other Basic Needs programming, such as National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, Share the Love Week or CalFresh pre-screening events.
      • Provide CalFresh pre-screenings to Warrior Food Pantry participants.
      • Complete necessary confidentiality training or other CalFresh training.
      • Marketing - Assist with efforts to educate and market via social media, print, and other formats.
      • Identifies and develops material for Basic Needs Newsletter Develops content for digital signage Knowledgeable of and ability to use independent judgement to refer students to additional campus resources.
      • Refer students to Basic Needs Coordinators or Care Manager for additional resources as needed.
      • Attend meetings with Basic Needs team as needed.
      • Provide regular updates to supervisor(s). 

      Other duties as assigned.

      • Demonstrates ability to accurately complete work in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
      • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Demonstrates dependability and able to follow-through on assignments.
      • Familiar with Canva, Adobe, Word, and PowerPoint
      • Ability to work with a diverse population.
      • Demonstrates experience working with or awareness of college students who have experienced food insecurity and/ or financial hardships or emergencies.
      • Demonstrates ability to work evenings.
      • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent has experienced food or housing insecurity.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, maintained during employment; must be making progress towards degree.
      • Major/minor in sociology, social work, public administration, or a behavioral science.
      • Matriculated student with at least one completed Stanislaus State fall/spring term; it is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent is an upper-division student.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Available weekly during Stockton Warrior Food Pantry operating hours.
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
      • Received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.

    • $16.00 per hour
