The Department of Athletics at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a Men's/Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Assistant Coach position with anticipated appointment to begin Fall 2024.

Position
The Men's/Women's Cross Country and Track & Field program at California State University, Fullerton is a highly competitive program that competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference. The Assistant Coach position reports directly to the Head Coach and they assist with coaching in the program in addition to the following duties:
- Reports directly to the Head Men's/Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Coach
- Assist with coaching a highly competitive cross country and track and field program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference
- Committed to the academic goals of the University and follow the rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA and the Big West Conference
- Assist with recruitment of Division I quality student-athletes
- Assist with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
- Assist with day-to-day training of setting and defensive development
- Assist with general administrative duties
- Work in conjunction with the head coach regarding travel coordination, scheduling, and practice planning
- Take an active role in marketing Men's/Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field on campus and within the community through public appearances and promotional efforts
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and demonstrated successful coaching experience at the collegiate and/or professional level in a diverse setting
- A proven ability to promote inclusivity when recruiting highly skilled student-athletics and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, solid administrative abilities, and a strong commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete
- The ability to interact successfully with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and to work harmoniously with students and colleagues
- Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- NCAA Division I Men's/Women's Cross Country and Track and Field coaching experience
- Knowledge of various scouting ad video editing software systems

Compensation
The Coaching Assistant 12-month classification salary range is $6,288 to $7,946 (12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $6,288 to $6,414 per month.
Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm).
