Job/Department Summary:

Under general supervision of the Library Dean, with work direction from the Business Systems Analyst, the Web Developer III works closely with library faculty and staff to create, implement, and oversee the library website, and support other library content management systems. This position is a key part of the Library Systems Unit, and manages the library website, including content, updates, application of best practices, integration with other library content management systems, and implementation of new features. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with current ADA Title II digital accessibility requirements and incorporating user experience design principles and best practices, including responsive web design. Working closely with the Business Systems Analyst, Accessibility Technologist, Head of Special Collections, Institutional Repository Librarian, Archivist, the Head of ACME (Acquisitions, Collection Management, and Assessment), Electronic Resources Librarian, Communications Specialist, and other library staff, the web developer provides technical support for web-based platforms and ensures functionality for data input and output. Additionally, this position supports CSU-wide library initiatives to implement systemwide platforms and provides recommendations for Meriam Library software development. This position builds and maintains collegial relationships with the CSU Chancellor’s Office by working closely with the Systemwide Digital Library Services and the Unified Library Management System units to promote effective systemness, and the campus’s Division of IT, library administration, faculty, and staff to advance technology initiatives within Meriam Library.

Required Education and Experience:

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
AND
Four years of relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Experience with library-specific applications
  • Experience working in a library setting
  • Experience working in a campus setting 

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm 

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $77,904 (Step 1) - $113,496 (Step 20) per year.
