Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Dean, Academic Programs, the Senior Program Success Specialist is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and administration of a broad variety of diverse educational programs offered through CPaCE. Strong administrative and communication skills are required for continual process improvement oversight, including the development and implementation and routine assessment of existing systems and operations with the goal of removing barriers to access for learners. The Senior Program Success Specialist will assess the educational needs of the campus with the goal of building degree and professional programs and pathways. Additionally, this role will act as one of the primary liaisons with campus partners to advance programs and initiatives that help meet enrollment objectives and support program and student success. The Senior Program Success Specialist is the communication conduit and representative, coordinating key activities and helping to prioritize resources to expand self-support opportunities at CSULB.  


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior-most program developer under the Associate Dean, providing leadership and guidance to other program team members. Responsible for large, complex, and diversified program areas such as CPaCE’s degree programs, as well as certificate and other pathway programs as assigned.
  • Prepare preliminary information for proposed new programs including program summary, budget, goals, marketing plan, research conducted, suggested fees, analysis of projected need for the program and audience it will serve, and a timeline for completion for review by Program Associate Dean.
  • Collaborate with campus partners on strategic initiatives and best practices to ensure alignment with academic and institutional goals.
  • Support the Senior Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management in the creation and operation of data dashboards to help track enrollment #’s, revenue and other key figures to capture college outcomes and measurements.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

  • Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $6,320 - $7,200 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
  • CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $6,320 - $9,014 per month.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and highly organized professional with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to write effectively and persuasively. They can successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating with diverse campus stakeholders, community partners, and high-level contacts both within and outside the CSU system. With proven project management experience, they demonstrate the ability to take programs from initial concept through implementation, assessment, and refinement. They possess a solid understanding of self-support programs, both credit and professional development, preferably within a higher education setting, along with knowledge of policy development, budgeting, personnel management, and educational administration. Experience in adult education, distance learning, non-traditional education, and program development is highly desirable. The candidate thrives in a team environment, works effectively with diverse constituencies on and off campus, and maintains flexibility to manage a variable schedule, including attending off-site meetings, presentations, and events as needed.

Education and Experience

•  Equivalent to a bachelor's degree preferably with courses in adult education and curriculum planning and three years of experience in planning classes and curriculum for higher or extended education programs including developing resources, budgets, marketing plans, and acting as a liaison with the community required.

Preferred:

•  Five or more years of demonstrated experience in planning and managing complex projects with a wide range of stakeholders and demonstrated experience working with a wide range of stakeholders in a dynamic and evolving setting.

• Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree.

• Experience with revenue generating programs, budgeting, and proposal development.

Physical Summary
