Summary
Under general supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Generalist is responsible for assigned accounting tasks and responsibilities for the corporation and student club accounting. The Accounting Generalist is also responsible for training and supervision of student assistants within the Accounting department.
Duties
Supervision, training and evaluation of Student Assistant 1 positions in creation and upload of journal entries, and front desk tasks. Initial review journals prepared and uploaded by student assistant. Maintenance of schedules and responsibilities for the student assistants.
Responsible for the reconciliation of the Children’s Center monthly Accounts Receivable reports. Reconciliation of Monthly Analysis for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable accounts. Responsible for the review and upload of payroll interface. Generation and distribution of income and financial statements for agency and budget accounts; generate ad hoc financial reports for Children Center CDE reporting, DE 542 reporting.
Provides assistance in the year end closing process and year end audit as well as interim audits. Performs other duties as assigned to support the department mission and goals.
Serves as the Accounts Receivable backup in the following areas: preparation of deposits; maintains student organizations faculty/staff advisor and contact database; creation and distribution of purchase orders, distribution and reconciliation of accounts receivable invoices. The Accounting Generalist will also serve as the Accounts Payable Specialist back up in reviewing expenditure requests to ensure accuracy, completeness, availability of funds, proper signatures and supportive documentation. Maintain authorized signatures on file; update budget books with transfers and change of purpose; maintain approved supplemental funding records. Maintain, update, and process agency fund applications and records.
Preparation of bank reconciliation and corporate merchant credit card transactions (Clover) for final review and approval. Preparation of bank reconciliation journal entries for posting to general ledger.
Back up for fixed asset records maintenance (asset additions, deletion, retirements and charges) into Asset Panda database; Prepare quarterly department asset inventory audit reports of manager tracked and depreciation tracked assets for managers to approve.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the department mission and goals.
Preferred: Experience working with student clubs and organizations within a college campus.

The range position is $29.03 to $43.55 per hour. The anticipated hiring range: $29.03 - $38.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
HOURS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt at 40 hours per week; schedule is generally Monday – Friday during business hours but periodically varies to accommodate working evening and weekend events.
