Under the general direction of the Isabel Patterson Child Development Center Director (IPCDC), the IPCDC Cook is responsible for the full range of duties associated with the implementation of a daily nutrition program for approximately 170 preschool and school age children and 25 adult caregivers who sit with children during mealtimes. This includes meal and menu planning for breakfast, lunch, snack foods, food supply shopping, ordering, receiving, inventory, food preparation, cooking and dispensing; clean up, maintenance and organization of equipment; utensils, and work storage areas. Additional planning and preparation is required for children with special dietary needs and/or restrictions. Incumbent is responsible for adhering to the requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) including record keeping and compliance with all licensing and public health regulations and the IPCDC meal and children’s program policies and procedures including guidelines for interacting with children. The incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. Lab Research Technician (Temporary) in East Bay
The Lab Research Technician ensures the continuous production, collection, processing, and archiving of environmental data collected at a meso-network of biometeorological field sites across California for the Cal State East Bay campus. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and calibration of on-going field measurements of carbon, water and energy exchange between vegetation canopies and the atmosphere and the environmental sensors that measure the condition of the air, soil and water. The Lab Research Technician trains and provides lead work direction to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and visitors on laboratory and field techniques, as needed. This position writes analysis reports on sensor performance tests and calibrations, data quality and gap filling, and processes raw meteorological data to compute eddy covariance fluxes of mass and energy exchange. The Lab Research Technician also assists with the development and testing of new sensors and methods.
