Classification Salary Range: $3,565 - $5,092 per month.
Starting salary $3,859 monthly (Step 5).
The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
About the Department/Position:
Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Development, the Development Support Assistant will provide a full range of administrative and clerical support to the Development office and team. The successful incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. Performs gift logging. Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains basic office equipment; inventory and supply ordering and tracking. Reconcile pro-card transactions, process requisitions and purchase orders, including ICTs, and ensures accounts payable is processed successfully. Processes travel requests and claims using Concur. Assists with special events and donor visits. Interacts with a variety of campus stakeholders including, students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
Special Working Conditions: Use of Golf cart. Minimal evening and weekend.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcomes office visitors, screens telephone calls, take notes, receive messages, and forward information to appropriate staff.
- Performs general office support and maintenance activities, and troubleshooting and maintaining office equipment; creates and maintains electronic records keeping systems.
- Assists development team with records keeping, filing, and scheduling meetings.
- Assists with entering information into department/UA information systems. Perform tasks on Raiser's Edge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school program or its equivalent and at least two (2) years experience in an office environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, in-depth social media knowledge, developing, producing, and maintaining analytical spreadsheets, & superb writing skills.
- Knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Knowledge of Graphic design.
- Skills in using standard office software packages.
- Skills in effectively presenting standard information in writing.
- Skills in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions.
- Ability to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments.
- Ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify deviations from applicable policies.
- Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions.
- Ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data.
- Work often involves front line contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Higher education experience.
- Advancement Services experience.
