Department Summary
Greek Life at San Diego State University represents a vibrant and diverse community of social fraternities and sororities dedicated to the core values of academic excellence, leadership, changemaking, belonging, and health and safety. The community is comprised of chapters governed by four distinct councils: the United Sorority and Fraternity Council (USFC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Interfraternity Council (IFC), and College Panhellenic Association (CPA). Each council supports chapters with shared purposes, programming, and joining processes.
SDSU’s Greek Life community includes fraternities for men and sororities for women, encompassing historically Black, culturally based (Latino/a/x, Asian-interest, and multicultural), and traditionally Panhellenic or IFC-affiliated organizations. Together, these groups foster leadership, scholarship, service, and a deep sense of community across campus.
Greek Life is supported by the Pierce Greek Life Center, a dedicated team of professional staff who advise students, develop educational programming, and advance initiatives that promote well-being and inclusion. The success of the fraternity and sorority community is also made possible through the engagement of alumni advisors and international organization staff who provide mentorship, guidance, and operational support to chapters locally and globally.
