Job/Department Summary:
Under general supervision of the glass studio faculty and department chair, this position is responsible for operating, monitoring, repairing, and maintaining studio equipment and ensuring that required instructional materials are readily available and that teaching areas are kept prepared and ready for class use with an emphasis on safety. This position will be required to have the knowledge of equipment operation and the ability to repair equipment as needed to remain operational. Equipment maintenance and repairs will require flexibility in schedule in order to complete duties around course offerings.
Required Education and Experience:
Equivalent to one year of experience performing support services for an instructional program and involving such activities as preparing, producing, dispensing, or storing materials, supplies, and equipment.
OR
Equivalent to one year of experience in ordering, purchasing, accounting or in office work related to technical materials, supplies, or equipment or in an office which provided similar services to a technical function or unit may be substituted for six months of the experience.
OR
Equivalent to two years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline in the specialty area to which assigned.
Preferences:
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Experience performing similar duties in an academic setting.
- Degree in Art Studio helpful in providing skills and understanding what duties need to be done or extensive experience in the field.
- Basic wood and/or metal shop skills.
- Valid California driver license.
Time Base: Part-time (10 hours per week)

CSU Classification Salary Range: $11,238 - $17,643 per year (FTE $44,952 - $70,572 per year)
