The Department of Management at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure‐track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Entrepreneurship with an appointment to begin Fall 2025. This person will also be serving as Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.

Position
The person in this position will serve as Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship in a tenure-track faculty role.  CSUF faculty are committed teacher/scholars who bring research and creative discovery to life for students in classrooms, labs, studios, and individually mentored projects. The primary responsibilities of the person in this position will include teaching and further developing courses in one or more of the following areas of Entrepreneurship: New Venture Creation and Funding, New Venture Launch, Entrepreneurial Operations, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Entrepreneurial Finance, and Lean Startup Entrepreneurship. This person will also be responsible for producing high quality peer-reviewed journal articles commensurate with the requirements for tenure. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities. As Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, this person will manage the operations and events of the Center and cultivate relationships with the entrepreneurial community in Orange County. As Director, this person will receive a stipend and a reduction in teaching load.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior to the Fall 2025 semester, candidates should complete all requirements for a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Management, or equivalent from an AACSB accredited institution
  • Demonstrated commitment to and excellence in teaching one or more areas of entrepreneurship
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with community and external stakeholders
  • A record of accomplishments in research, teaching, and academic professional service, appropriate for appointment at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor (less than five years of teaching experience) or associate professor (minimum five years of teaching experience) at an AACSB-accredited institution. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on our University and College standards, including any prior service in a tenure-earning position.
  • Demonstrated potential for effective integration of technology into instruction
  • Ability and commitment to work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, staff, and faculty

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of demonstrated administrative or applied managerial experience in running a department or an academic unit

The Department of Management has 29 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 3 full-time lecturers and over 45 part-time faculty. The Center for Entrepreneurship
The College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) has established the Center for Entrepreneurship (CSUF Entrepreneurship) as a Center of Excellence to serve as a support organization and outreach center, which encompasses a variety of entrepreneurial initiatives. The College of Business and Economics (CBE) leads business education on the West Coast. CBE is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) at both the undergraduate and master’s levels, is among the five largest business colleges in the U.S., and the largest in the Western U.S. CBE houses 14 Centers of Excellence– four of which are affiliated with the Department of Management. Compensation
The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6,221 to $13,224 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range for the Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification is $10,883 to $11,096 per month.

The Associate Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6,825 to $14,523 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year).

Additional stipend compensation and course release will be provided for serving as the Director of the Center.

Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm). 

Summer research grants, moving expenses, start‐up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
