The Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist provides consistent, accurate, moderately complex, general academic advising services to undergraduate students. This position works on a college advising team (Lam Family College of Business, College of Ethnic Studies, College of Liberal and Creative Arts, College of Health and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, or the Graduate College of Education) within the Undergraduate Advising Center and advises students from their third year through graduation. The incumbent collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to deliver advising services with a focus on upper division students and those who are close to graduation. Working under general supervision, the Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist provides advising focused on setting goals to facilitate students’ success, persistence, and degree completion in a timely manner. The Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist also advises at new student orientations.

The Lead Academic Counselor works in the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) within the Division of Undergraduate Education and Academic Planning (DUEAP). The UAC serves as SF State’s primary advising location for undergraduates seeking academic advising. In collaboration with the Director of Advisor Development and College Advisors, the Lead Academic Counselor works with a high degree of autonomy to improve advisor training and professional development opportunities on campus. This role also serves as consultation and support for academic advisors/counselors working to resolve complicated advising concerns. In addition, the Lead Academic Counselor provides direct advising to students with complex and often highly sensitive academic issues, using a high degree of professionalism, analytical skills, and knowledge to interpret campus/CSU policies and effectively resolve student issues. Athletics - Assistant Track & Field Coach San Marcos
The coaching assistant, who will have the working title of Assistant Track & Field Coach, will assist the head coach with the day-to-day operations of our successful NCAA Division II Track & Field programs.  This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, preparation for practice and competition scheduling, team travel organization, assisting the head coach with the athletic scholarships process, compliance with all NCAA rules, and student-athlete welfare.  The assistant coach will work with the academic support services staff in fostering academic success for all student-athletes including graduation rates and retention of student-athletes.

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Campus Fire Marshal to conduct plan review and inspections to ensure compliance with fire and panic safety regulations and standards, as adopted by the OSFM. This position will also ensure compliance with CSU internal policies relating to fire and panic safety construction and may represent the campuses in interacting with municipal fire departments. This position will report to a Deputy Director of Fire Safety and serve as a Chancellor’s Office Capital Planning, Design and Construction representative for the CSU Fire Safety program at each CSU campus. Upon review and approval by the State Fire Marshal of the individual’s appropriate level of expertise, the incumbent will become a Designated Campus Fire Marshal (DCFM).
