Serving as a student-facing member of the Division of Student Affairs, the work of the Area Coordinator (AC) is structured to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Priorities of the university. Employed by the Department of Student Housing and Residence Life (SHRL), the AC is a full-time, 12-month live-in professional staff member. The AC is supervised by the Associate Director of Residence Life but also receives direction and support from the Assistant Director of Residence Life. AC’s at Cal State East Bay are expected to initiate “high-touch” front-line interaction with students as they develop formal and informal relationships. They are expected to build communities that focus on student learning and development, supporting students' need, and inclusivity for all students. AC’s provide direct oversight for their designated residential area and provide lead work direction to a student staff team. This position does not conform to a standard 9-5 work day and requires the individual to work evenings and weekends to best meet the needs of the community.
Hourly Real Time Captioner POOL (Temporary & Intermittent) East Bay
The purpose of this position is to provide communication access via real-time captioning services for students, faculty, staff and guests of the campus who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing. Services may be required on-site at one of Cal State East Bay’s three campuses: Hayward, Concord, and/or Oakland. Real-time captioning may be needed in academic courses, meetings, office hours, student groups, and/or campus events. This is an hourly, temporary, intermittent position. Work schedules may vary each academic term depending on operational needs. This position may require working some weekend and evening hours as needed.

Accessibility Counselor East Bay
Accessibility Services provides eligible students with disabilities academic support services, counseling, education/community resources and strategies necessary for an accessible education experience, as prescribed by section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Services are provided to students with verified disabilities who request access to academic coursework and other university activities. The primary purpose of the Accessibility Services Counselor position is to evaluate disability documentation, determine eligibility of services and academic accommodations, as well as provide disability advising, disability counseling, advocacy, and disability management for eligible students. The secondary purpose of this position is to evaluate, determine, and coordinate modifications for students eligible for such under Title IX, specifically pregnant students and those recovering from childbirth or experiencing a pregnancy related condition.

Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the Case Management Coordinator serves as a primary resource for students of concern on campus. The position provides case management services to students with complex mental and physical health problems, academic and social challenges, difficulty navigating campus systems, and safety concerns who are reported to the Student Care Team. Case management services include but are not limited to providing assessment, intervention, advocacy, resources and referrals, and follow-up services. The position coordinates student services and provides referrals to the appropriate resources on campus such as Student Health and Counseling Services, Accessibility Services, Student Conduct, Rights and Responsibilities, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, and off-campus community agencies. The Case Management Coordinator works with Student Wellbeing to respond to emergency assistance requests and disburse emergency funding. The position also works with University Housing and Residence Life to place students in on-campus Emergency Housing, and coordinates case management and transition planning to longer term placements.
