Academic Preparation Outreach Coordinator (Student Services Professional II) Chico
Under the general supervision of the Senior Resource and Program Manager in the office of Undergraduate Education & Academic Success, the Academic Preparation Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and carrying out the student-facing program components of the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) and supporting other associated college transition programs, housed in Undergraduate Education and Academic Success. Responsibilities include communicating CSU academic readiness standards to high school students and staff in the Chico State service area through on-site visits, presentations, tabling, newsletters, and other outreach methods; distributing and encouraging use of academic readiness materials to area high schools; creating and maintaining Chico State EAP website; and developing innovative approaches to engaging middle and high school students, families and staff in college readiness conversations. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the data collection and review of course-taking patterns and preparation trends for students in the service area high schools, as well as review of first-year educational outcomes for those attending Chico State. The incumbent will play a key role in organizing events sponsored by EAP (for example, statewide EAP meetings hosted by Chico State) and developing college readiness events as needed. This position requires regular collaboration with both internal and external offices and programs that oversee aspects of the high school to college transition (for example, Mathematics and English Placement Coordinators, Orientation and New Student Programs, Student Success Centers, Student Financial Aid and Scholarship Office, etc.). This position is funded through the Early Assessment Program, a CSU Chancellor's Office initiative.
