Job Summary

Working under the direction of the Director of Research Integrity and Compliance - The Research Compliance Specialist will be responsible to provide administrative services to the operations of Research Compliance regulations, mainly in the areas of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative and analytical support for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
  • Administrative and analytical support for Responsible Conduct of Research Program (RCR)and Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Program.
  • Administrative and analytical support for the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).
  • Cross training, and duties as required by the Director of Research Integrity & Compliance.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Preferred qualifications include experience with Responsible Conduct of Research and Financial Conflict of Interest, familiarity with the CITI Online training program, and knowledge of electronic research compliance platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and telecommunication tools like Zoom and Teams is essential. The role requires strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, including excellent grammar and the ability to present to diverse audiences. Attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are also key, along with the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and administration.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience required.

• Related experience may include hands-on experience in the areas of research compliance (IACUC, IBC, RCR, FCOI).

• Completion of PRIMR IACUC 101 or equivalent preferred.

• PRIM&R Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA) strongly preferred.

Physical Summary

  • Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,879 - $5,145 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,879 - $7,488 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment
