Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Operations provides administrative support to the Men’s Basketball program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all administrative functions of the Men's Basketball program.
  • Responsible for all aspects of team travel; including flight, bus, hotel, meals, transportation, practice facilities, per diem expenditures, etc.
  • Responsible for film exchange and all video responsibilities.
  • Acts as liaison between men's basketball and Athletic administrative areas.
  • Supervision of volunteers & student managers.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of NCAA Division I basketball operations. Knowledge of PC computer operations and Excel, Word and PowerPoint software. Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students, and members of the community. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and project a professional attitude. Ability to learn the tape exchange program. Ability to exercise mature judgment and discretion under intense pressure and short timelines.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

•Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required.

•Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience. 

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the sport of basketball and familiar with all aspects of administering a basketball program. Previous collegiate basketball experience. Division I basketball experience.

Physical Summary

  • Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

Licenses / Certificates

Driver license required.

•Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Compensation

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,505 - $5,159 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
