Compensation and Benefits


Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,059 - $4,262 per month 

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,059 - $5,712 per month

  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
  • Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Student Personnel Technician provides advice and assistance to students, campus administrative staff, faculty, and representatives of outside agencies on a variety of financial aid programs. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures of various federal, state and institutional financial aid and scholarship programs.  This position performs technical tasks associated with the delivery of aid funds to students and provides advice and assistance to students, parents and campus staff on a variety of financial aid programs.

  • Advise and assist students with accurate information in response to financial aid processes and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain, analyze and evaluate data for specific use.
  • Exercise good judgment in proactive problem solving in those situations which can be handled directly.
  • Ability to adapt to changing policies, procedures and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a high school diploma and two years of responsible general clerical experience in a college or university financial aid office.

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
