Job Summary

Reporting to and under general supervision of the Senior Director, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), with additional lead work direction from the ORSP management team and grant Principal Investigators, the ORSP Administrative Analyst (Analyst) performs varied administrative, analytical, and technical duties and provides day-to-day administration for ORSP administrative operations. The Analyst serves as a resource for faculty, administrator, staff, students, and community in diverse and moderate complex matters of policy, procedure, and practice by providing information; historical background and rationales. The Analyst is expected to use independent judgement to make decisions, interpret and apply policies and procedures, perform research when needed, prepare and analyze budgetary and other financial reports, provide support documentation, and provide general office assistance. Contacts involve interaction with all levels inside and outside the university and may include dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Key Qualifications

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Experience supporting sponsored programs administration activities in a higher education environment and a general knowledge of public administration principles is preferred. Intermediate proficiency of computers and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, web publishing software, and PeopleSoft preferred.

Salary and Benefits

This is a part time, temporary, non-exempt position. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $27.69 - $40.34 an hour (step 1 - step 20). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 1 ($27.69 an hour). Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.
