Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,147 - $5,250 per month
Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,570 - $6,658 per month
- This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
- Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Procurement and Support Services (PASS), this position is responsible for the purchasing of goods and services, handling various procurement programs, and providing administrative assistance to the Director. This position has lead responsibility for PeopleSoft Purchasing support campus-wide and is a member of the PeopleSoft implementation team for PASS. This position also coordinates system-wide Procurement requirements and other Procurement-related functions.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of:
- General knowledge of purchasing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, the methods and procedures of purchasing, including the processes of competitive bidding as required by the California State Statutes and Codes.
- Knowledge of computer office systems and ability to use a broad range of technology, systems, and software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications).
- Skill/Ability to:
- Perform or learn campus routine purchasing, ordering, and contract processes.
- Write specifications, record and document purchasing activities, and to keep accurate records and files.
- Understand and apply California State Statutes and Codes.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, vendors, campus personnel and the general public.
- Independently gather and analyze data necessary for informed purchasing decisions; analyze competitive bids and make accurate arithmetic computations.
- Conduct business transactions and perform simple research.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment.

Education and Experience
- Equivalent to an undergraduate degree in purchasing, accounting, marketing, general business, or another related field. Related education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Preferred Knowledge:
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft system.

Supplemental Information
Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with California State University, Fresno. This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
