The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $150,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Senior Manager, Case Management Solutions to lead the oversight all technology, implementation and adoption aspects of the systemwide case management initiative undertaken by the CSU.
Under general direction from the Executive Director, CHRS, the SMCMS has the primary responsibility to oversee and provide guidance and direction for all technology related development and delivery to ensure a successful implementation of a single/centrally managed case management system for all 23 CSU campuses and the Chancellor's Office (the selected vendor product is Case IQ). The SMCMS is responsible for developing and ensuring that all parties adhere to the adoption methodologies and timelines, essentially setting the strategic direction while understanding the resource constraints and policy implications for working within the California State University system. This position will require out-of-the-box thinking and a strong knowledge of technology and business process design/redesigns within higher education. The incumbent is responsible for not only escalating risks and concerns but also for delivering options and solutions, each with their own list of pros and cons as appropriate.
This is a full-time temporary position with benefits.
This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, CHRS, the Senior Manager, Case Management Solutions will:
-Oversee the coordination of the case management system, setting up, managing and ensuring successful adoption of the application for all 23 campuses and the central Chancellor’s Office (CO).
-Manage a small support team and guide in developing and providing work deliverables and timelines.
-Lead all aspects of system testing, developing multiple plans and directly overseeing the rollout and completion.

- Coordinate with all campus and (CO) testing teams as well as developing and delivering testing schematics and timelines for campuses to use, while also ensuring campuses fully understand the plans, and deliver upon them in the project timeline as agreed upon.
-Maintain and administer the application long term including managing user access and reporting, supporting audits and constantly looking at future enhancements and opportunities for improvement and other areas that can be brought into a central system. Work with the vendor and campus and CO stakeholders, develop and maintain a project plan, with timelines and required deliverables for all 23 campuses and the CO in adoption a single case management system.
-Develop and deliver best practices for project management to ensure standardized adoption. Define and periodically reassess user roles and responsibilities, including Business Owners, Technical Owners, and Data Steward groups in established system governance.
-Receive and solicit user assignment changes from campuses, determine appropriate access level and type based on business needs, provision and de-provision users.
-Develop and deliver change management best practices to ensure a successful adoption of the system. Assist with data migration needs from existing electronic files when additional offices or universities transition to using the system.
-Provide training and technical assistance to campus stakeholders and end-users as needed and by request.
-Collaborate with system colleagues and vendor as needed to reconfigure system to meet evolving business needs.
-Review and approve and document disposition of data in accordance with organizational records retention policies.
-Classify data in partnership with the Director of the CSU Privacy program and ensure maintenance of data in accordance with data security and privacy policies and principles.
-Conduct random and risk-based sampling of case documentation systemwide to ensure consistent use of reporting fields.
Qualifications
This position requires:
-Bachelor's degree in IT or other field and 10 years of progressive management experience in higher education; experience within the California State University strongly preferred. Experience managing technology projects and staff in a higher education environment required.
-Ideal candidates will have a strong background in managing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, enterprise architecture, and managing large-scale, complex technology integration projects. Experience with Information Security and security management related to technology required.
Ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading and managing business process design/re-design of large/complex technology systems, enterprise architecture and managing large-scale, complex technology integration projects and/or programs.

- Experience leading in a complicated, distributed, large organization
- Experience shaping strategy and guiding decision-makers toward defining clear priorities and adopting best business practices
- Experience in leading business process design and re-design
- Demonstrated experience with project and program management methodology.
- Experience with all phases of technology implementation methodology (including design, build, test, deploy and stabilization)
- Experience managing vendors and contracted labor teams
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong political awareness and the ability to inform and influence executives
- Ability to work collaboratively, build consensus and strong teams.
