    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in the Assessment Department.


    • Start Date
    • Position is available on or after April 7, 2025 and ending on or before May 30, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • The Student Success student assistants will work under the supervision of the Office of Assessment (Assessment Specialist, Faculty Director of General Education, Faculty Fellow for Assessment) and work collaboratively with other members of the Office of the Provost, including the Curriculum Specialist.

      Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in developing communications, graphics, and presentations for projects related to Assessment, Accreditation, and General Education.
      • Support the Student Success and Community Partnership Specialist with clerical duties related to grant-funded projects, and support AVPAA initiatives and office support.
      • Access databases and synthesize reported information in the form of charts and written narrative; 
      • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and peers on assessment projects; support the work of assessment-related faculty learning communities (including scheduling meetings, developing agendas, etc.).  
      • Support the work of accreditation-related committees and workgroups.  
      • Update PeopleSoft course catalog data; data entry and data validation  
      • Other duties as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications

    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in a diverse environment with students, staff, and faculty.
      • Strong critical thinking skills.
      • Ability to work in a collaborative environment on real-life problems.
      • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
      • Graduate student or undergraduate at the junior or senior level with experience in any of the following will be considered: qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, working knowledge of Office database/process management, data visualization techniques, graphic design (e.g., Adobe InDesign), web design, and social media content development.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
    • Salary Range
    • $17.00 - $19.00 per hour.
