About the Position:
Student Business Services (SBS), part of the Division of Administration & Finance, plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions for the university. We serve as the primary cashiers, collecting, allocating, and safeguarding funds between students, banks, other departments, and external sources. Our account specialists provide personalized consultations to help students find payment solutions, while our customer service centers assist with inquiries related to student financial accounts and other financial matters. We are seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator I to support the daily operations of our department. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under general supervision, the Administrative Support Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for the Student Business Services Department, ensuring effective communication and operational support across campus. This role includes managing the front desk, handling phone, email, chat, and in-person inquiries, and interpreting and applying university policies to maintain consistency. Responsibilities encompass coordinating conference room schedules, organizing meetings, and developing training programs. The coordinator maintains accurate records, oversees mail distribution, updates campus directories and web content, and supports communication efforts such as orientation fairs and e-newsletters. Additionally, the Coordinator manages office supplies, implements security measures, facilitates office repairs, collaborates on safety initiatives, handles IT service requests, and provides administrative support for student success services, all while maintaining professionalism in correspondence and at the front desk. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
|
High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to perform standard business math including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution and a minimum of three years of administrative experience in higher education. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as desktop publishing software, is essential. Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong oral and written communication skills, a customer service orientation, and technical skills for organizing and querying data ability.
