| The Health Science & Human Ecology (HSCI) Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for our San Bernardino Campus (SBC). The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our four programs: Environmental Health Science, Nutritional Science & Dietetics, Health Services Administration and Public Health.
Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Health Science or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. | The Department of Child, Adolescent, & Family Studies at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor, tenure track position to begin August 2027.
The Department invites applications from teacher-scholars whose research and teaching are situated at the intersection of family studies and child development. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in families with young children and who have the ability to teach courses in family studies, early childhood development, and early childhood education. Qualified candidates are those that possess the necessary content expertise in family studies, specialize in studying early childhood development, and engage in scholarship and teaching supporting historically underrepresented groups, diversity,
equity, and/or social justice.
The Department of Child, Adolescent, & Family Studies offers both theoretical and practical application courses, designed to help prepare graduates for direct service careers working with children of diverse backgrounds, to merge developmental knowledge with practical experience, and to prepare students for graduate training. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in family studies, and be able to teach courses in these areas, as well as in early childhood development, at both the undergraduate and master’s levels (with class sizes ranging from 30 to 200 students). Demonstrated excellence in university teaching is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate must have an active and viable research program in which they can supervise, mentor, and involve undergraduate and graduate students. A record, or emerging record, of scholarly activities (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and/or conference presentations) is expected. The potential for securing external funding is also desirable. |
