Working independently under general supervision of the Director of Practicum Education, the Practicum Placement Coordinator performs moderately complex professional Student Services work including the coordination and facilitation of practicum placements for students; collaboration with community-based practicum agency personnel, and implementation of School of Social Work, campus, state and Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation policies and regulations as they relate to student practicum placements. The Practicum Placement Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of the Practicum Education placement tracking database and assistance with the Practicum Instructor training program. This position will also work with the Practicum Team on practicum orientations and outreach activities. This position also carries its own cohort of approximately 40 BSW advisees, which entails meeting with students to evaluate transfer credits; advising students on course selection, program requirements, degree progress, career planning, and graduate school applications; compiling and analyzing information and reports when appropriate. The SSP II will lend direct support to the Practicum Education program and assist in the development and administration of policies and procedures related to practicum placements. |
