| The Administrative Support Coordinator II (ASC) works independently under the general direction of the department chairs to coordinate clerical and administrative operations for the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Science Education. The ASC provides lead work direction to the Administrative Support Assistant; coordinates human resources activities and department events; manages course scheduling and related academic functions; monitors and reconciles budgets; oversees purchasing for equipment, supplies, travel, and professional development; and trains faculty and staff on procedures.
The ASC supports the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as the Department of Science Education. The position provides direct and indirect support to department chairs; coordinates projects; researches and analyzes information; delegates and monitors work; independently interprets and applies policies; and resolves daily operational issues using sound judgment and discretion. The ASC also facilitates the Chemistry Summer Research Institute (CSRI) and supports faculty advisors in planning and scheduling student events.
