We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: sociocultural anthropology, biological anthropology and/or archaeology. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in a field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of Anthropology. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. A Ph.D. is desirable for teaching upper-division courses (3000, 4000 or 5000-level) and required for 6000-level graduate courses. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. A successful candidate will be a member of the CSUSB community for one semester, either Fall 2025 (mid Aug- mid Dec) or Spring 2026 (mid Jan – late May). This position is designed for scholars taking a semester sabbatical from a home institution or as a postdoc for an up incoming scholar.
