The Art and Art History Department in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at California State University, Chico is seeking an Assistant Professor of Interior Architecture beginning Fall 2025. The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a terminal degree (MFA, MArch, MIArch, PhD, or equivalent) in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position. Significant professional experience and a proven record of, or potential for, creative scholarship and university-level teaching. Familiarity with contemporary issues in design and architecture. Commitment to fostering a cross-cultural learning environment. NCIDQ certification, or willingness to obtain. Willingness to teach a broad range of courses in design theory and practice, e.g. sustainable design, materiality, digital design tools (such as CAD, BIM) and fabrication, building systems, building codes, and interior design history in a studio-based learning setting. Familiarity with CIDA accreditation standards and preparation. |

Working with designers, web masters, photographers and videographers, the Director develops and executes a range of promotional and marketing collateral to support development objectives.
The Director is a motivated, self-directed individual who is capable of working without close supervision to successfully meet the Advancement division’s fundraising goals and campaign objectives. The Director may be assigned to special projects depending on the priorities of the University or Advancement division. Where required, the Director coordinates and/or collaborates with Strategic Marketing and Communications. This position will plan and execute stewardship and cultivation strategic initiatives, donor outreach and communications, donor recognition, acknowledgements, stewardship newsletters, and impact reports. |
