Position Description

Job Overview

Under general direction of the Dean for the College of Education, Health & Human Services (CEHHS), the Pathways to Careers (PC) Senior Student Services Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive and complex student services and advising for the CEHHS students enrolled in SWIFT Health Programs and its related initiatives. The SSPIII is responsible to work with the SWIFT programs office, staff, and steering committee to realize the vision of providing an academic neighborhood to participants of the SWIFT programs and its initiatives involving a suite of services, resources, guidance and support that enables the goals of assisting students to graduate in three-years with optimal preparation for their relevant certifications. They will: Provide lead coordination and direction for PC degrees including, but not limited to, outreach and recruitment, admissions, retention, academic progress, program completion and/or graduation, credentialing, and career advising and post-graduation support. Responsible for administrative planning of service delivery and advisement, and direct support of students utilizing a high degree of judgment and professional counseling skills and knowledge in the assigned program area(s). Responsible for the integration of service delivery of PC degrees across all CEHHS and University programs.  Responsible for the interpretation and resolution of complex and sensitive student concerns in accordance with program, college, university, and external policies and regulations. The incumbent will assist SWIFT and college leadership with the development and ongoing execution of a holistic vision for PC programs. The incumbent will build and maintain relationships with student organizations, the college community, campus partners and offices, external organizations, and other stakeholders in support of the assigned program area(s).

This is a full-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,540 - 5,800 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,540 - 7,893 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year; 14 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

This position is required to work in person on campus.
