Assistant Librarian – Electronic Resource Management (ERM) Librarian

The University Library at California State University San Marcos seeks applicants for an ERM Lecturer Librarian for a temporary full-time Library faculty position with a 1-year term. The ERM lecturer will provide end-user support to resolve e-resource access issues and assist with activation and configuration of electronic resources.

Duties:

The ERM Librarian provides expertise and support for the library’s electronic resources and digital collections. The ERM Librarian works collaboratively with metadata, collections, and library technical staff to configure electronic collections and resources and works directly with students, faculty and staff campus-wide to troubleshoot access problems. Projects may include creation of resources and guides for utilizing AI tools in Library subscription databases.

Minimum qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited Master’s in Library Science (MLS) or international equivalent
  • Experience with Ex Libris Library Systems (e.g., Alma Library System, Primo Discovery system, or Leganto reading list system)
  • Knowledge of technologies and workflows for publishing Open Educational Resources (OER)
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting textbook affordability initiatives in an academic setting
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across different departments and functional units
  • Knowledge of/experience with learning management systems including Moodle
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience: This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE, 12-month exempt position and is benefits eligible.

  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $6,500 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

  • CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,288 - $7,658 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
