Position Salary Range: $6,591 - $9,886 per month
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $8,000 - $8,200 per month.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:
Under general direction of Vice President of University Advancement (VPUA), the incumbent leads the administration, operations, and engagement relating to the CSUDH Philanthropic Foundation Board of Directors and its committees and serves as the liaison. The mission of the Philanthropic Foundation is to actively promote, pursue and steward private support for the advancement of CSUDH, and the volunteer board members accomplish this by serving on committees, acting as university ambassadors in the community, and managing the $28 million endowment. In collaboration and partnership with VPUA, the incumbent develops a strategic plan for the board, including a succession plan, in order to ensure stable and sustainable membership and leadership.
The incumbent also manages the day-to-day operation and administrative & project management activities for the VP office, including organizing the workflow of VPUA, preparing for meetings, monitoring schedules, and helping VPUA manage and prioritize competing demands for attention and time. Independently provides executive administrative support, relieving VPUA of a variety of technical and administrative duties; represents the VPUA and the VP's office to internal and external stakeholders and facilitates and supports overall management and operations in the division. Serves as a member of the UA Leadership Team.
Incumbent will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in the planning and execution of communication and engagement with the volunteer members of the Philanthropic Foundation Board of Directors pertaining to meetings and university events and activities that may be of interest to individual members.
- Planning of and successful execution of quarterly meetings of the full board, as well as committee meetings (Executive, Finance & Investment, Audit, and others, as needed).
- Responsible for working with staff liaisons and board committee chairs on preparing presentations, advisory issues, meeting collateral, meeting logistics, minutes, and follow up; organizes and implements agendas, notifications, and all logistics.
- Provides high level administrative, analytical, technical, and clerical support and project management for the VPUA and all activities pertaining to the President's Cabinet and other internal and external constituents.
- Requires the ability to work effectively in a team, in partnership, as well as independent planning, judgment and accountability; tact, discretion and confidentiality; and expertise to investigate, analyze, and make recommendations for the resolution of problems with broader administrative impact and implications.
- Make decisions based upon a thorough knowledge of campus-wide and division-related policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professionals at this level usually have three - five (3-5) years of experience and a Bachelor's degree. One (1) year of supervisory/managerial or leadership experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic fundraising principles and Advancement best practices, including individual team member roles and responsibilities, as well as the systems and procedures to support the division's fundraising efforts.
- Ability to build working relationships with constituents across the University.
- Programs under the direction of VPUA; organization, policies and rules of assigned administrative office.
- Excellent organizational, and project management skills who can juggle conflicting priorities to keep projects moving forward.
- Strong writing and editing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills, including being an attentive listener who is customer oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Prior experience in an Advancement unit
- Prior experience working with donors, VIPs, boards, non-profits
- Bachelor's degree and at least 7+ years of progressive administrative work experience
- Previous experience working with executives
- Experience in higher education institution and/or CSU system
