There is a range based on the position’s classification. Each CSU campus handles
its own recruitment and determines its own salaries within the pay range established
for each classification.
What is the salary range for tenure track or temporary faculty positions?
Each CSU campus handles its own faculty recruitment and determines its own salaries
within broad systemwide salary pay ranges established for each academic rank. Average
starting salaries vary by campus, and individual offers will depend on the education,
experience, and qualifications of candidates. Starting salaries also can vary substantially
by academic discipline.
Aggregated new faculty salary data is published annually in the Report on Faculty Recruitment and Retention Survey. This
report includes information on average salaries by campus and by academic discipline
as well as by rank.
Are citizens of a county other than the United States eligible to work for the
CSU?
All offers of employment to new employees are contingent upon presentation of documents
demonstrating the appointee's identity and work authorization consistent with the
provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
How do positions get posted to the CSU Careers Website?
The CSU Careers website is for jobs within the CSU only. Each CSU campus has designated
individuals responsible for posting and maintaining their own job listings on the
CSU Careers Website.

An RSS (Rich Site Summary) feed is a format for delivering regularly changing web
content. The CSU makes available the content of a user’s job search as an RSS feed
to whoever subscribes to it. An RSS feed for a CSU job search allows a user to easily
stay informed by retrieving the latest job updates based on the user’s search parameters
and saves a user time by not needing to execute the same search repeatedly.
