The Department of Nursing, consisting of CCNE-accredited undergraduate and graduate programs, is recognized as being innovative, community-based, and student friendly. The undergraduate program includes a completion program for registered nurses, and pre-licensure classes culminating in either baccalaureate or master¡¦s degrees in nursing. The master's program has specialties in nurse anesthesia, women's health care, nursing leadership (administration and entry-level master¡¦s pathway), school nursing, and nursing education. There is an accelerated track from the ADN to the MSN for qualified students. This position targets the administration-leadership concentration in the graduate program, as well as undergraduate leadership courses. Students completing these courses will obtain either a Bachelor¡¦s or Master¡¦s of Science Degree. Position
* Participate in curriculum implementation, evaluation and instruct courses in administration, patient safety, and health care regulatory requirements, including didactic and clinical, as well as one or more of the following: cultural competence, nursing theories and/or professional nursing issues.
* Assist students with leadership-based competencies, related clinical application of content areas listed above, as well as theses/projects; examinations and other culminating experiences.
* Participate in student advisement.
* Participate in distance education.
* Provide leadership in coordinating classes and clinical rotations; serve as a liaison to relevant health care and other community organizations.
* Conduct on-going research/scholarly activity in area of expertise and disseminate findings.
* Participate in professional and community activities.
* Participate in academic activities at Department, College, and/or University levels

Qualifications
* MS and completed doctoral degree from an accredited institution, with one of these degrees in nursing
* Must hold or be eligible for licensure by the California Board of Registered Nurses
* Current theoretical and clinical expertise in specialty areas listed above, certification as appropriate
* Teaching and curriculum experience preferred.
* Evidence of successful teaching preferred
* Evidence of scholarly activity and demonstrated potential for extramural fund-raising
* Ability to interact successfully within a multicultural environment, and to work harmoniously with students, colleagues, and the community
* Experience in using distance education methodologies, particularly web-based work and telecommunications are desired

This is a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Salary is competitive and commensurate to rank, experience, and qualifications.
