HIT Federally Directed Nursing Project Specialist

THIS IS A TEMPORARY GRANT SUPPORTED POSITION NO PERMANENT APPOINTMENT WILL BE REACHED FROM THIS POSTION. THIS POSITION IS 18 HOURS A WEEK (45% TIME BASE) Provides a full range of work related to nursing program development, evaluation, research and/or operational and fiscal related to the post-award administration and implementation of HIT Federally directed grant program. Provide a full range of work related to program development, evaluation, research and/or operational and fiscal analysis related to the post-award administration and implementation of the CSUCI Federally Directed Nursing Health Information Technology grant (HIT). Ensures cost effective implementation of all program activities by monitoring and tracking budgetary expenditures in accordance with the project budget, scope or work and deliverables. Develops and presents programmatic and budgetary reports for project staff as needed.
Uses interpersonal and networking skills to develop and sustain collaborations with the representative of the Nurse Squarred program.
Coordinates student registration in the Nurse Squarred program and coordinates educational training activities for faculty and staff. Responsible for the development and implementation of operations systems including development of program policies and procedures in relationship to the use of the Nurse Squarred program in collaboration with the Program Director. Reviews operational processes and recommends efficient and effective methods for ongoing continuous improvement. Provides analysis of sponsor fiscal and programmatic guidelines and regulations and troubleshoots issues to ensure compliance. Serves as liaison between the University and the funder as needed. Performs specialized administrative and technical duties that support the program use of Nurse squared. Works with Nursing Program director and staff regarding grant deliverables and budget expenditures. Qualified candidates must demonstrate: the ability to handle a variety of detailed and complex tasks quickly and with a high degree of accuracy; ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist; ability to meet timelines and deadlines; ability to work both independently and as a team member; possession of outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to respond to and analyze internal and external funder regulations; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with multiple educational, public, and community organization, staff, faculty and other campus departments, ability and willingness to learn new skills and quickly absorb new information; use diplomacy, tact and discretion; initiative, independence, and the ability to start and see a project through to completion; ability to investigate, research and analyze problems. A bachelor's degree or equivalent or combined experience working in a higher education grants and contracts is required. Experience working with students and faculty. Microsoft Office experience required. PeopleSoft experience recommended.
