Description:
Three positions available. This will be a Senior or Associate level position based on experience. Some evenings and weekends. Personal transportation required.

The Office of University Advancement coordinates three departments that work together to maximize financial contributions to the University, develop effective community relations programs, and actively engage alumni in the life of the University. Activities are coordinated through three units of the Office of University Advancement: the Office of Development, the Office of Alumni Relations, and the Office of Public Affairs. University Advancement strategic programs are designed to increase the level of private giving to CSUEB, strengthen existing ties with local and regional constituents, and develop new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships with institutions organizations, and businesses.


The Development Director (DD) reports directly to the Associate Vice President, Development & Campaign Director and will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fund-raising strategies for qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects, for gifts and pledges of $25,000 to $1million+, primarily in the areas identified as comprehensive campaign priorities. The DD maintains a portfolio of 150 prospects with additional stewardship responsibilities for high-level donors, making 15 to 20 contacts per month to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individuals and organizations. The DD works with senior campus administrators to identify funding opportunities and to develop prospect-to-donor strategies and will have liaison responsibility for one or more colleges or campus units. The DD utilizes the supports Cal State East Bay Educational Foundation trustees and other volunteers in cultivating and soliciting prospects and stewarding donors and prepares written proposals for presentation.

This position requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of at least three years experience within or supporting a major gifts program within a university's central development office. Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years of direct fundraising experience identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospective donors (individuals and preferably organizations) and managing high-level volunteers, preferably in a college or university setting, with a verifiable track record of having actively participated in securing major gifts ($25,000 to $1million+). Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and possess a demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse campus community (including senior administrators, faculty, staff and students) and volunteers.

Annual compensation and title (Senior or Associate Development Director) will be commensurate with experience. An excellent benefits package will be provided.
