Subscribing to CSU Careers Search Feeds

Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari each have a different symbol to indicate that a web site offers RSS; click this symbol to subscribe to the feed. Specific instructions for each browser follow.

Internet Explorer

For Internet Explorer versions Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9 the RSS icon on the main toolbar will change from grayed-out to orange when the browser is on a web page that supports RSS. (Note: In Internet Explorer 9, you need to turn on the Command bar to view the RSS icon: press Alt, then from the View menu, select Toolbars and turn on the Command bar). When the icon is orange, click it to go to the RSS page for that web site. At the top of the page, in the yellow box, click Subscribe to this feed. The default setting will save the feed in the "Feeds" section of your Favorites. You should name the feed so you will remember the search parameters you selected.

To unsubscribe from a feed, near the top of the browser window, click the plain yellow star (with no plus sign). The Favorites menu will appear. Choose Feeds, and then right-click the feed you want to remove. Click Delete, and then click Yes.

Internet Explorer 6 and earlier versions do not have a feed reader built into the browser. Instead, you can use a standalone RSS aggregator or feed reader, or upgrade to Internet Explorer 8, then follow the instructions above.

Firefox

For Firefox, the RSS icon will appear on the right side of the address bar when the browser is on a web page that supports RSS. Click the RSS icon to go to the RSS page for that web site. In the yellow box at the top of the page, you can choose which program to use when subscribing to the feed. After choosing the program, click Subscribe Now. The default setting saves this feed in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder under "Bookmarks".

To unsubscribe from a feed, in the Bookmarks pull-down menu, right-click the bookmark you wish to remove, and then choose Delete.

Safari

For Safari, the letters "RSS" will appear on the right side of the address bar when the browser is on a web page that supports RSS. Click the letters to go to the RSS page for that web site. Then, click the + (plus sign) to the left of the address bar to subscribe to the feed. The default setting saves the feed as a bookmark on the Bookmarks Bar.

To unsubscribe from a feed, right-click (or Ctrl-click for Mac) the bookmark and choose Delete.
