The Position: The Computer Science department is searching for a tenure track Assistant professor to start August, 2014. California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. Position is contingent on funding. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related area. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be conferred before the start of the appointment. The ability to teach a broad range of Computer Science and/or Computer Information Systems topics. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates are subject to a criminal records check.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience at the university level, research experience and industry experience.

Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses; scholarship, such as publications, grants and/or contracts; and service, such as advising and committee work. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.

The Department: The Department of Computer Science offers an ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Computer Science, an ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, and a master's degree in Computer Science. It is in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management.
