POSITION: Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 18, 2014 (Fall semester)

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience


-A Ph.D. in the Mathematical Sciences specialized in Computational Mathematics

-Established research program with potential for continued scholarly growth

-Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the university/college level

-Commitment to and/or expertise in educating a diverse student population

-Ability and willingness to engage in committee work and other service activities.


-Successful post-doctoral experience

-Experience in interdisciplinary research

-Expertise in industrial mathematics

-Successful teaching experience at the university/college level

-Complement existing strengths in the Applied Mathematics program


-Engage in ongoing research which leads to periodic publications in refereed journals

-Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in applied mathematics

-Periodically teach late afternoon or evening graduate level courses

-Teach other mathematics courses as needed

-Engage in appropriate department, college, and university committee services.
