VPAA 2014/15 - 28

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for August 2014. Preferred candidates will have a PhD. in Portuguese. Area of specialization includes Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Cultures. Candidates should be prepared to direct the Portuguese language program. Knowledge of Portuguese linguistics, Spanish descriptive linguistics, Latin American Literature or Translation Studies is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in Portuguese and English. Applicants should offer evidence of teaching effectiveness, a scholarly research agenda, and the ability to work well with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
