Description:
STATE GOVERNMENT:

- Plan, organize and execute annual legislative visits to the State Capitol as part of CSU
Budget Advocacy Day.
- Solicit and/or develop specific state legislative proposals for consideration by the
California State University¿s Office of Advocacy and State Relations.
- Execute campus participation in the CSU e-advocacy program.
- Implement and monitor compliance with the new, three-year CSU Budget Advocacy
outreach plan, including development, planning and coordination of candidate forums and
sustained contact with Sacramento-area state legislative delegation and staff.
- Organize and execute campus visits by Sacramento-area state legislators and
Sacramento State alumni serving in the State Legislature.
- Generate legislative support for campus capital outlay projects.
- Work in collaboration with the Office of Public Affairs to respond to legislative and/or
executive branch requests for campus information.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:

- Plan, organize/schedule and execute annual legislative visits to the Congress and federal
agencies as part of CSU Capitol Hill Advocacy Day.
- Organize and execute campus visits by member of the Sacramento-area congressional
delegation, as assigned.
- Develop, write and submit federal funding proposals in support of campus faculty,
students, staff, programs and/or projects, as assigned.
- Solicit and/or develop specific federal legislative proposals for consideration by the CSU
Federal Relations Office for potential inclusion in the CSU¿s annual federal legislative
agenda.
- In consultation with the Vice President for Public Affairs and Advocacy, develop and
implement an ongoing federal relations advocacy program that supports broad
Presidential and University-wide initiatives.
