Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Speech and Language Disorders
Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology
Beginning Fall Semester 2013

Minimum Qualifications


Ph.D. in Speech Pathology or related area.
ABDs will be considered but all requirements for the doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2014.

Special Knowledge and Abilities:

Current practice in speech-language pathology, minimum of one year in the past five years, is required. CCC-SLP is required as is eligibility for and attainment of CA licensure in speech pathology. In addition to teaching and supervision, the applicant will be expected to participate in scholarly activities as well as institutional and community service. Eligibility for or a valid CA driver’s license is required because of off-campus supervision.


Experience with undergraduate and graduate education and clinical supervision is preferred. Preference given to candidates with broad experience working with all age groups and knowledge of anatomy and physiology, phonetics, speech and hearing sciences, and speech and language disorders across the lifespan. Preference will be given to applicants who show the ability to work with diverse groups.


Duties may include: (1) teaching upper division courses in speech pathology for speech pathology and audiology majors; (2) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in speech language pathology, (3) graduate clinical supervision both within the University clinic and off campus, (4) academic advising, (5) scholarly activities, (6) supervising student research, (7) serving on Department, College, and University committees, (8) providing service to the campus and the community.


Tenure-track full-time faculty position in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology beginning in the Fall semester of 2013. Anticipated salary range: $49,716 - $62,664 (salary commensurate with educational preparation and professional experience).
