Performing Arts: Music/Guitar-Assistant Professor

Position Description:Tenure Track teaching position in music with a specialization in guitar. Responsibilities include teaching music courses and related general education courses; collaborate with the theatre and dance areas of the Performing Arts program; involvement in committee work and university service; initiate curriculum development in the area of music/guitar, and maintain a professional standing in the field of music.

Minimum Degree Requirements:
A Doctor of Music (DM) or Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) degree from an accredited institution with a specialization in the area of guitar.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants for the position must possess A (DM) Doctor of Music or (DMA) Doctor of Musical Arts) degree from an accredited institution with a specialization in the area of guitar; have completed at least two years of teaching experience at the university or college level; have achieved professional recognition in the field of music/guitar.

Preferred Qualifications:
In additiion to the required qualifications listed above the successful candidate should also:
have experience working in an interdisciplinary environment; have experience in curriculum development related to the music area of specialization; and have proven interested in collaboration with the areas of theatre and dance.
