Department of Management, College of Business

The Position: The Department of Management is searching for a tenure track Asst/Assoc. Professor in Entrepreneurship to start in August 2013. California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. Position is contingent on funding. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a doctorate in Entrepreneurship or related area, such as Management. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be complete by Aug 21, 2013.
Appropriate academic preparation and the ability to teach a variety of entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate level are required. Evidence of publication in entrepreneurship-related refereed journals, or potential thereof, is required.Candidates are subject to a criminal records check.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given for a doctorate from an AACSB-accredited program. Evidence of superior teaching is highly desirable. New venture creation and other industry management experiences are valued.

Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service. Faculty typically teach three sections per semester, fulfill service obligations, and publish in refereed, professional journals. The successful candidate will have a strong teaching interest in entrepreneurship courses, both required (introduction; business plans; and/or managing new ventures) and elective (social entrepreneurship, family business). Additionally, an active role in refining curriculum and developing co-curricular initiatives is valued. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.

The Department: The Management Department is the largest of the three departments within the College of Business (http://www.csuchico.edu/cob/ ). The Department offers three Options in the B.S. in Business Administration: Management, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management. Students may specialize in Project Management or Operations Management, as well as pursue Minors in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Diversity, and Project Management. The department also offers several of the required courses for students pursuing their MBA.
