INTERMITTENT / $19.75 - $31.54 per hour

Major Duties

Under direct supervision, provides web development and application support for the Division of Student Affairs; provides input and recommendations to the Director on web development services; analyzes user, system, and application needs; designs program specifications, programming efforts, and user testing, ensures that applications are accessible and responsive to user needs. Builds, configures, and adapts packages to support Student Affairs initiatives; provides development support for a growing number of critical division systems, both stand-alone and integrated with portal and middleware applications and infrastructure; writes programming and user documentation; researches new technologies and services; and performs other duties as assigned.


Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis up to two years. Equivalent to six months of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of: programming and testing methods and techniques for software applications, using MaxOSX, Windows, Linux/Unix, Open LDAP, MS Windows Active Directory, PHP and MySQL; general knowledge of specific industry standard applications programming language and of standard systems analysis techniques; and generally accepted documentation methods. Thorough knowledge of PC/MAC based web browsers and related tools. Knowledge and experience with LAMP development stack; knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus. Ability and specialized skills to: analyze problems; propose effective solutions; understand functional and procedural requirements; relate solutions to management, technical staff, and users; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; make presentations; conduct meetings; provide user training; and prepare programming and user documentation.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Anticipated hiring range: $19.75 - $20.74, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Temporary-renewable, end date to be determined; intermittent, on-call; hours and schedule vary.
